Santo Estevao 1759

The Church of Santo Estevao, on the small island of Jua, was originally built in 1575. Sacked and destroyed by invading Mahrata forces, it had to be rebuilt in 1683 and again in 1739. The final alterations occurred in 1759. The church has a false dome which is only visible from the exterior.
